Gauge Cluster Swap Instructions!

to install the cluster..if the cluster is the same year as your car..ie 88-89 or 90-91..it is direct plug in. you take out the four screws holding the hood on (two in front from the bottom and two near the windshield) and take the hood off. unplug the two connectors carefully..unplug the speedo cable carefully. unscrew the four screws holding the cluster in. it should now pull right out. reverse order to install the si cluster. on the indiglo gauges..i dunno. i tried install some once and i broke the pin off. the pins don't really come off..you're supposed to be able to slip the gauges in over top. how you do that on the gas and temp gauges i don't know.

Hey guys, i got an Si Cluster for my DX, and i just had my mechanic roll it back to my miles and now i want to install it, Does someone have any instructions or something so i dont screw anything up? Please advise! Thanks! Also, how do you install Indiglo Gauges? i know you have to take out the PIN, how the hell do u take off the pin? PLease Advise on that also! THanks!

Thanks, i put in my gauge cluster today and it works great, but i have 2 problems, it makes a squeaky noise at like 60Mph untill whenever, like a bearing is lose or something, and then i did the cluster swap again, and it still does it..... Also, my speedometer pin bounces up and down when i accelerate, but its okay after like 30 or 40 mph. Why does it do this and how do i fix it?

I've done this a couple of times before most likely you didn't push the speed cable in back of the cluster all the way on, hence the squeaking and the jumping around of the needle.

yup, sounds like that to me. push on the cable until you hear it click into place, then pull back on it to make sure it's in good and tight.

Yeah ever since I installed my cluster I'm hearing a squeaking, I'm gonna try that tommorow to see if it works.

I tried the MPH to Km/H convertion, but I was stupid to remember that the recording on the ticker was still measuring in miles and so I was getting a very low 116000Km's But people tell me how delicate the needles are, but they arnt that bad just slide em off with a screw driver and put em back on, then twist them back to the 0 (if any of this made sence, haha!)
